False Assumptions

When you look at this woman what do you see?
An age, a weight, a womb, a figure, a laborer?
The world sees me false, can't see beneath skin
I hoped you saw more, the beauty within.

Do you judge her appearance say she's not enough
Do you list her faults, shortcomings cruel and rough
Miss her keen sensitivity and inner instinct to knowing
Do you ignore her wit, the sass, or the inner glowing

Then tell her she's enough, tell her why
Show her you value her much more, clarify
For it's never enough to not do what you say
This Maritaka bird needs reassurance you convey
