A drop on the predictably wet

I fall from the sky with a trillion others

Bracing myself as the ground rises up toward me

Acceleration into caps of white

A sea of indistinguishable units

A mist flying up from a moist pavement

Dawn light delayed by the thick layers

Existential perspiration, no escape from the fold

Knuckle down, embrace my murky, brakish brothers

Flood waters won't recede floating things break down

Underneath, the true wasteland waiting for the drought
